On the morning of July 7, a testing engineering vehicle started from Loudi South Station of Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway and began to test catenary data along the way. This indicates that the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway has been basically completed in Hunan and has entered the final sprint stage before opening to traffic.
By the end of this year, the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway will be completed and opened to traffic in Hunan. At that time, the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway will be directly accessible from Xinhuang Station at the westernmost point in Hunan to Hangzhou, and cities and counties such as Xiangtan, Shaoshan, Loudi, Shaoyang, Huaihua and Xinhuang will have high-speed rail for the first time.
The Hunan section was opened to traffic at the end of the year, and the drive from Xinhuang to Liling took about 2 hours.
The opening of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway has changed the travel habits of Hunan people along the route. With the completion and opening of the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway in Hunan by the end of this year, Hunan will truly embrace high-speed rail life in an all-round way.
The Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway consists of three sections: Shanghai-Hangzhou, Hangzhou-Changsha and Changkun, with a total length of about 2245 kilometers, of which the Shanghai-Hangzhou part has been opened. The Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway has a total length of 508 kilometers in Hunan, crossing eastern, central and western Hunan, with a speed target of 350 kilometers per hour. After passing through the Luoxiao Mountains, the line reaches Liling, the first city in Hunan, the "porcelain city", and then turns to the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city group and the former red residence Shaoshan, crossing the Xuefeng Mountains, drilling through the mysterious western Hunan, and finally from Xinhuang out of Hunan and continuing westward to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.
According to the plan, the Liling-Xinhuang section will be completed and opened to traffic by the end of this year. As the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway lines in Zhejiang and Jiangxi will also be completed and opened to traffic before the end of the year, the railway with the longest east-west mileage in my country will meet the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway with the longest north-south mileage in Changsha. Liling, Xiangtan, Shaoshan, Loudi, Shaoyang, Xinhua, Xupu, Huaihua, Zhijiang, Xinhuang and other cities and counties in our province will have high-speed rail for the first time.
After the completion and opening of the entire Hunan line of the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway, it will take about 2 hours by car from Xinhuang to Liling. It takes only 1 hour to drive from Changsha to Nanchang, and the drive from Changsha to Hangzhou will be reduced to less than 4 hours.
